29.03.2020 – UPDATE: Sheraton Textiles Opens it’s doors under Level 4 Lock down rules and regulations.
Dear Valued Customer,
On Wednesday 29th April, co-operative governance and traditional affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma addressed the nation with a briefing that detailed and described the Level 4 lockdown restrictions which will be implemented nationwide from Friday 1st of May. The country’s current nationwide lockdown status is set at Level 5, with President Cyril Ramaphosa announcing last week that Level 4 restrictions allowed for an easing back to work for some industries and some civil liberties.
At the beginning of the initial lockdown period, Sheraton Textiles was granted permission to manufacture linen & bedding products in order to assist the increased needs & requirements of our nation’s health & medical institutions due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus. To further assist in the prevention of the spread of the virus, Sheraton put its manufacturing capabilities and innovativeness to good use and shifted its focus to the production fabric face masks.
As of the 1st of May, under the Level 4 regulations, Sheraton Textiles will be re-opening its manufacturing facilities in both Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg at a reduced capacity – with only 50% of its staff allowed to return to work. Sheraton has been granted permission to produce winter bedding products under the Level 4 guidelines and regulations.
Sheraton’s online department will begin processing any online orders received during the lockdown period starting the 4th of May. We thank everyone who placed an order with us during the lockdown period – you will be contacted personally with details around the expected lead times to process and dispatch your order/s. Please expect slightly delayed processing and delivery times, as we have limited staff to process orders at this stage, and our couriers are acting under limited conditions.
Our factory outlets, Kolnicks Linen, will be reopened for business on Saturday the 2nd of May – with a specific selection of winter products available for the public to purchase, as well as our newly developed fabric face masks. Sheraton has introduced a variety of unique, fully washable & reusable fabric face masks for both adults and children to assist in the prevention of the spread of the Covid-19 disease. Please visit our online store (www.sheratontextiles.co.za) for more details on our face masks or to purchase face masks online.
Sheraton has ensured the safety of all its staff members that are returning to work, as well as members of the public who are entering Kolnicks stores, by implementing strict policies and controlled procedures for entering the premises, including; social distancing; hand sanitation and the wearing of fabric face masks. The details of these protocols and processes are being communicated through the strategic placement of informational posters.
We urge all members of the public to stand together and adhere to the rules and regulations of the lockdown level 4 – so that our friends, family and country can be safe.
Stay Safe, Stay Home,
The Sheraton Online Team.
14.04.2020 – UPDATE: Extension of Coronavirus COVID-19 lock-down to the end of April
Since the initial 21-day lock-down came into effect, the rate at which new cases have been identified here in South Africa has slowed significantly. From 1,170 confirmed cases on the 27th of March, the number of confirmed cases today stands at 2,272. In the two weeks before the lock-down, the average daily increase in new cases was around 42%. Since the start of the lock-down, the average daily increase has been around 4% – this represents real progress.
With the measures that we have taken as a nation – such as closing our borders and prohibiting gatherings – as well as the changes that we have each had to make in our own behaviour, have definitely slowed the spread of the virus.
“But the struggle against the coronavirus is far from over”, said the President.
After careful consideration of the available evidence, President Ramaphosa and the National Coronavirus Command Council decided to extend the nation-wide lock-down by a further two weeks beyond the initial 21 days.
This means that most of the existing lock-down measures will remain in force until the end of April.
The President stated, “We all want the economy to come back to life, we want people to return to work, we want our children to go back to school, and we all want to be able to move freely again. But our immediate priority must remain to slow down the spread of the virus and to prevent a massive loss of life. We must do this while preventing our economy from collapsing and saving our people from hunger.”
In support of this, the Sheraton Textiles online store will remain to accept online orders during the extended lock-down period, but will only process and ship orders once we return to work in May 2020. Please feel free to continue to place online orders in the normal fashion – but also be aware that we are running a 21% discount off EVERYTHING for the full duration of the extended lock-down period. Simply enter the coupon code “21DAYS” at checkout.
